Over the weekend, SQUARE ENIX revealed that Tuesday, July 2, 2024, is the planned launch date for Dawntrail, the fifth expansion for its highly regarded role-playing game, Final Fantasy XIV Online. Additionally, the Collector’s Edition was unveiled. Pre-orders for all items will open on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.
Producer and director Naoki Yoshida gave a retrospective of FINAL FANTASY XIV’s 10-year history during the panel at PAX East 2024. He also showcased the new content that will be included in the Dawntrail expansion, which will feature a whole new story, two playable jobs—viper and pictomancer—a range of challenging encounters and new dungeons, a level cap increase to 100, and more.
Additionally, Yoshida unveiled the Dawntrail Collector’s Edition, which will only be accessible for pre-order on the Square Enix Store beginning on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. Pacific in limited quantities. Visit the official Dawntrail website for more details.
The Dawntrail Collector’s Edition comes with both the physical Collector’s Box and a code for the FINAL FANTASY XIV: Dawntrail Digital Collector’s Edition for Windows or Mac. Xbox Series X|S, Steam, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 players can order the Collector’s Box individually and pre-order the Dawntrail Digital Collector’s Edition on each platform separately.
A copy of Dawntrail, in-game bonuses, or pre-order bonuses are not included in the Dawntrail Collector’s Box; instead, it only contains the physical products specified below.
- Dawntrail Special Art Box – An original art box that evokes the idea of a mythical city of gold with its glittering golden base. Yoshitaka Amano’s Dawntrail illustration is featured on it.
- Expertly Crafted Viper Figure – A striking, high-quality figure that depicts the Warrior of Light in a viper-like manner. The dimensions of the figure, including the base, are roughly H 9.65″ × W 4.52″ x D 5.90″ (H 24.5cm x W 11.5cm x D 15cm).
- Adventurer’s Cloth Map – FFXIV’s most recent world map, which features new areas that make their Dawntrail premiere. Approximately 16.53″ x 29.52″ (42cm x 75cm) in size, printed on premium cloth.
- The Unending Journey – A ruled notebook, about 5.90″ x 4.33″ (15cm x 11cm), modeled after a favorite adventurer’s logbook.
- Adventurer’s Pen Case – A retractable pen case to store writing instruments and other tiny objects necessary for your travels. The pen case is around 8.26″ x 9.44″ (21 cm x 24 cm) when it is folded.
Furthermore, participating shops will offer the Dawntrail Digital Collector’s Edition for pre-order on March 26, 2024. This edition will come with the following in-game bonuses:
- In-game Item: Ark Mount – Create a path across the sky with your very own Ark, inspired by the eidolon’s dynamic form from Final Fantasy IX. You may watch a trailer for the mount HERE
- In-game Item: Chocobo Brush: Pictomancer Weapon – This delightful brush brings out the best in every pictomancer with its endearing chocobo design and characteristic glittering star effect.
The following benefits are available to players who pre-order FINAL FANTASY XIV: Dawntrail from participating retailers:
- Early Access – Early access will enable users to play Dawntrail before the official release, with a tentative start time of 2:00 a.m. (PDT) on Friday, June 28, 2024.
- In-game Item: Wind-up Zidane Minion – As long as you watch out for your belongings, this tiny replica of Zidane from Final Fantasy IX is a perfect traveling buddy.
- In-game Item: Azeyma’s Earrings – earrings fashioned after the sun, a dazzling representation of the goddess Azeyma. When fitted, these practical earrings will have different features based on the user’s class, job, and current status. The earring is also ideal for raising your jobs to 90 because it increases experience points earned from fighting foes by 30% when worn.
When you pre-order Dawntrail for Windows, Mac, and Steam, you will receive pre-order bonus codes that you can use right away. Bonus codes will not be needed for digital pre-orders bought from the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store. Players will be able to use their Azeyma’s Earrings to catch up to level 90 before the expansion arrives on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, because in-game items were sent upon pre-ordering Dawntrail.
Recently, FINAL FANTASY XIV Patch 6.58 was also released, bringing with it the beginning of a new PvP season and a number of changes to playable content. Patch 6.58 details are available HERE.
“The Path Infernal,” the crossover questline for Final Fantasy XVI, will be accessible from April 2 until May 8. Upon finishing the missions, players will have the opportunity to obtain various in-game items with a FINAL FANTASY XVI theme. Visit HERE for more details about the crossover.
With the release of FINAL FANTASY XIV Online for Xbox Series X|S, more Xbox users will be able to join the Warriors of Light in Eorzea and beyond! Xbox Game Pass Ultimate users may get a Starter Edition from Xbox Game Pass Perks until April 19, which comes with three complete FINAL FANTASY games: A Realm RebornTM, HeavenswardTM, and StormbloodTM. By April 19, players who buy the Xbox version or get the Starter Edition through Perks will also receive entertaining and practical in-game goods to help them along the way, such as the Palom minion (a vanity pet) and Menphina’s earring, which gives 30% more experience points up to level 80.
The highly anticipated FINAL FANTASY XIV Online story offers an unparalleled opportunity for new players to embark on their journey, with over 30 million players enrolled worldwide.
