Irrational Games just announced the 1998 Mode for BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea Episode Two.
You may recall the 1999 Mode, which is the hardest difficulty mode in Bioshock Infinite. The newly revealed 1998 Mode, is designed to challenges the player to complete the narrative by using only non-lethal tools. The 1998 mode will be in addition to existing difficulty modes, as well as the 1999 Mode.
Irrational Games Creative Director, Ken Levine, said,
“In Burial at Sea – Episode Two we put a focus on balance and stealth mechanics. As we were developing this new style of gameplay, we started to see people self-impose non-lethal playthrough’s. Given the fan reception of 1999 Mode, we thought it would be cool to give them another way to play Burial at Sea that challenged their mastery of stealth tools.”
BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea Episode Two releases March 25 as part of the Season Pass or can be purchased separately for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
