Owen Mahoney, Nexon President and CEO, kicked off the conference with a talk encouraging game developers to take risks and overcome the obstacles to innovation. “Innovation is hard, scary, complex and expensive,” said Mahoney. “But it’s also essential for growth.”

Dae-hwon Kim, Vice President of Nexon Korea, delivered this year’s keynote address on the topic of redefining games in the era of the “4th Industrial Revolution” and addressed rapid changes in both the technology and culture of games.

In the newly established Data Analysis sessions, experts from Nexon Intelligence Labs and NCSoft Knowledge AI Lab will discuss practical examples and tips on using AI and other revolutionary technologies in game development.

In addition, studio leaders will share post-mortem thoughts on the challenges and solutions of developing blockbuster games such as Devsisters Cookie Run: Kingdom, Blue Archive from NATGAMES, and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds from PUBG will also be presented.

NDC is the largest game knowledge sharing conference in Korea that started as a private in-house event of Nexon in 2007 and turned into a public conference in 2011. In particular, it is sharing trial and error and know-how information in a wide range of fields such as game-related development, planning, and service to promote mutual growth and win-win growth in the game industry.
