60 Parsecs! Review for Steam

In the 2D comedy survival game, you have to make quick decisions in a funny and excitedly scary way. 60 Parsecs!, by developer/publisher Robot Gentleman, is the type of game that make me and anyone else feels that I want to continue this journey again and see what I can do the next time, but differently. It can teach me and anyone that if you fail or win or want to improve your skillsets on what decisions you make and succeed, to make sure that the team and you, most importantly, stay alive.

60 Parsecs! Review for Steam

The game’s story began in the 1950’s with a group of astronauts, also to be referred to as “astrocitizens,” who reach the stars of outer space to prevent a nuclear war. But then, all of a sudden they realize that they are not safe at all when a nuclear bomb is about to destroy their base. 60 Parsecs! starts off picking either Emmet or Deedee to be your player, I  decided to choose Deedee randomly. After that, It starts with 60 seconds to evacuate by getting everyone as possible to the ship to safety,  along with collecting medical supplies and other things to help you survive.  It wasn’t that much of a challenge at first when you run around trying to get around the base and getting the crew in space freaking out in a very funny way – and get as much needed supplies as you can. It was kind of a really enjoyable phase in this one.

After you have done all of that, the crew members that you tried to get are on the ship waiting for a planet destination to land to be safe. But throughout the game, the character that you pick task was to not only find supplies to survive and avoid dangerous monsters in the stars, but to also make the crew members not bored and feel happy and exciting by starting fun conversations and discovering each of the astrocitizens life and what they like to do. When I played through the game, I faced challenges and hardly could find food, and once got myself into a monster attack on the ship, and most of the crew members turned into skeletons within day 23 and the game was over. When I tried it again and again around like 5-6 times I finally got into a planet called Mootopia where a lot of crew members hardly make it and left one dead.

I found 60 Parsecs! a really strange story, but also a really funny and exciting game to play, The 2D animation of the game was spot on and creative, and the character design looked unusual but funny when they look like they have never been in a strange situation like this. Plus the action of those characters throughout the game was hilarious.

Despite being a challenge overall, 60 Parsecs! to me was very well done and humorous. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who loves challenges like this and enjoys 2D games.

8.5/10
