Magic: The Gathering Arena Adds Direct Challenge Play

Magic: The Gathering Arena game director, Chris Clay, literally shouted it from the rooftops via Twitter last Wednesday. Now, Direct Challenge play is LIVE in the game’s Open Beta build! With this update, casual and serious Magic players can challenge their friends (and enemies) to settle longtime feuds, test deck strategies, or have friendly deckbuilding challenges through Magic: The Gathering Arena.

Here’s how Direct Challenge works:

1. You and your friend open the Direct Challenge option
2. Type in one another’s username and five-digit code
3. Hit “Battle”
4. Play!
