Square Enix and Eidos-Montréal’s have confirmed that their action, adventure title Thief will get its AMD Mantle update on March 18.
Mantle is a new graphics API developed by AMD, which aims to give game developers better low-level access to the hardware capabilities of modern graphics cards.
Earlier this year Battlefield 4 received its own Mantle update, but while it offered some boosts, it did so at the price of smooth performance. Not only did it raise the average frame rate on AMD cards, but it also slashed the minimum frame rate, which lead to rather choppy war-based gaming.

Thief released last month for PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4 and PS3 in North America and Europe.
