NY Game Awards 2022 Nominees and Virtual Show Revealed

The show goes on…line! The New York Videogame Critics Circle (NYVGCC) revealed the nominees for this year’s New York Game Awards, while also confirming the 11th annual show will now be held virtually-only on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022.

“We really wanted to present our fans with a live show this year. However, for health and safety reasons, we are offering a virtual only show again in 2022. We are still absolutely thrilled about having the honor of acknowledging all the incredible work from developers and journalists in 2021,” said Harold Goldberg, president and founder, NYVGCC. “In addition to the list of nominees, we’re still hopeful that many will buy tickets to support our ongoing mission to provide awareness and mentorship for the video game industry, especially among underserved communities.”

NYVGCC will contact ticket holders about refunds for the previously planned in-person show. While tickets are no longer on sale, interested supporters can donate to the NYVGCC and help fund ongoing programs for 2022. Additional donation information is also available at this link. By the way, the sale of 10 $40 tickets covers the cost of having 4 articles written by NYVGCC student interns. 

The NYVGCC, a nonprofit promoting awareness of, and education for, video games, writing and journalism in the New York City area, hosts the annual award program to celebrate the industry and its creators from the past year, as well as the students that NYVGCC mentors, and the NYVGCC scholarship programs.
