What Does the Apple Watch 7 Do Differently?

The Apple Watch, made by the Apple company, has been a technological revelation since its first reveal in 2015 and it seems Apple isn’t stopping there. The Apple Watch has been getting better and more advanced every generation, going from a relatively small screen with a handful of features to a watch that is capable of pretty much everything your iPhone can do and even more! Apple has now announced their seventh generation of watch and it looks like the innovations haven’t come close to slowing down. So, what can you expect from this new generation?

What Does the Apple Watch 7 Do Differently?

New Watch, New Display

Apple has nailed this generation with their motto, “Full screen ahead” as the tagline for this new generation of Apple watch. The new watch boasts a display screen that is bigger than ever before, taking up almost the entire body of the timepiece. As said on the Apple webpage, this new generation has almost 20% more screen area than the series 6 version, over 50% larger than the series 3 and earlier. This makes using the device for all sorts of purposes much, much easier, whether it be messaging friends, playing poker at GGPoker Canada, tracking your health or even drawing pictures. The Series 7 Apple Watch will be the most accessible watch so far, letting anyone make use of all its features.

Not only is the display bigger, but it has also been made even clearer with its new always-on retina display. The display now stays on despite the position of your wrist, something that the older generations were incapable of, as well as being 70% brighter than the older models. Combining this with the new wrap-around, continuous glass that holds the display, this new model is going to be the easiest to read. The subtle refraction at the edges of the watch adds to the already clear extravagance that this device holds mounted upon the wrist of a savvy user.

Faster, Better, Stronger

The new generation of Apple Watch doesn’t just boast a clearer and prettier display, but also a much stronger one, with Apple adapting the front crystal to be much stronger and more durable. This crystal will be almost entirely crack resistant, dust resistant, and water resistant. This means that there is greater protection around the OLED screen, the most delicate part of the device. Speaking of which, the new iteration of this OLED screen comes with the touch sensor built in, and is housed safely into the aluminium guard, with a front crystal that is now 50% thicker than before. Even the aluminium chassis has been toughened, becoming less likely to dent and a greater protector of the internal electronics.

The Future of Health

The Series 7 has health at the forefront of its design philosophy, now capable of so much more to help the budding athlete inside of you. The watch can now take blood oxygen levels at the tap of a screen alongside the long standing BPM measuring feature. This can also sync to your iPhone fitness apps to give you instant feedback. This new generation can even take an ECG (electrocardiogram) to ensure your stay at your peak fitness level. To compound the new fitness features, the Apple Watch 7 even boasts better sleep tracking and advice, as well as help for mindfulness and meditation to keep your mind just as fit as the rest of you.

The new Apple Watch is packed full of new features and innovations that will take this generation to heights never seen before in a smart watch. And what next? Apple seems to always be on the frontier of development, so it’s unlikely they’ll stop at the technological marvel that is the Series 7. Today, fitness and heath, tomorrow, who knows what?
