The Crew 2: Season 6 Episode 1, developed by Ubisoft and Ivory Tower, is definitely one of my favorite racing games that I have played. The open-world environment and the vast variety of customizable vehicles allow hundreds of hours of fun, exciting racing, and gameplay. I had a fun time getting accustomed to The Crew 2, as its story and racing modes allowed me to get the hang of the gameplay and controls. However, I believe that the free-range mode, allows a player to drive anywhere in the USA. The Crew 2 has a well-developed map and environment, for example, various features and famous locations of the United States such as the Grand Canyon really give fun and awesome experience. Season 6 Episode 1 Season 6 Episode 1: Dominion Forsberg adds 6 new playgrounds to the mix.
Gameplay:
I found the controls of driving to be relatively simple after getting a hang of it. I specifically like the drifting and steering mechanics as I felt that they were really smooth. Additionally, I found the gameplay of other vehicles such as boats and planes to be a nice extension of what already is a fun and engaging gameplay system. I found the maps to be extremely fun while racing against other cars. The race tracks were really fun and allowed me to precisely drive around testing my skill. It allows me to have fun driving around the innovative track design. Not only are the tracks both memorable and stunning, the replica of the US, allowing for open-world driving, really made The Crew 2: Season 6 Episode 1 almost feel like it was on one giant map and allowed for a ton of new and unexplored environments and experiences that mirror real life.
The Crew 2: Season 6 Episode 1 has also different weather patterns as well as environmental changes, making the game more lifelike and realistic. I really liked the new lighting and weather changes a lot as they made the game more realistic and atmospheric, almost as if you were driving in real-time. Additionally, I liked the realism of the maps overall as the weather changes such as icy roads made it harder to drive. This new episode also comes with numerous Quality of Life improvements for all players. In addition, a new 60 FPS option will now be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, along with a visual overhaul of color grading and weather on all platforms.
Customization:
There are so many upgrades and customizable options in The Crew 2: Season 6 Episode 1 that encompass a ton of color options as well as options that boost gameplay and feel. I really liked how all the customizable options are not only able to be got through gameplay but also allowed for slight improvements in piloting the car itself.
Thoughts:
I personally really liked the open-world aspect the most about The Crew 2: Season 6 Episode 1. Being able to appreciate the contrasting environments of city-like atmosphere as well as nature allows for the realistic graphics to shine in the game. Additionally, I felt that The Crew 2 went above and beyond in immersing in the racing car experience, as we are able to customize all aspects of the car and we even get to go outside the car itself sometimes in our house, which only makes it even more immersive.
