Konami Digital Entertainment today announced that nine players have been selected to compete in the baseball competition using WBSC eBASEBALL: POWER PROS in the Olympic Esports Series 2023.
Qualifiers were held as part of the Olympic Esports Series 2023 in March and April for players both in Japan and globally with eight qualification spots on the line for a place in the Finals, which will take place during Olympic Esports Week from June 22-25 at the Suntec Centre in Singapore.
From the Japan Qualifier Final Tomoki Noguchi – “Daylami”, Takato Fujishima – “fujito”, Hiroki Horiike – “TAIJYU”, and Kazutaka Machida – “antimon” booked a place in the Finals.
In the Global Online Qualifier 1st, Nintendo Switch player Jacob Park – “KangGang” from USA and PlayStation player Wei-Chung Yu – “Hazuremon” from Chinese Taipei qualified. They were joined by two Chinese Taipei-based players from the Global Online Qualifier 2nd Chia-Ming Wang – “CMWANG” qualifying on the Nintendo Switch and Po-Yao Hsu – “DoubleBass” on PlayStation.
The Olympic Virtual Series 2021 winner Shoma Mori – “SHORA” was already guaranteed a place in the Olympic Esports Finals 2023. The 10th player from the host country Singapore will be determined from the final qualifier event.
