The team has been working hard on new content for Mirthwood, the medieval fantasy sim-life role-playing game from publisher V Publishing and developer Bad Ridge Games, since its PC launch via Steam last month (Check out our 9/10 review!). The new “Night of Falling Stars” update from Bad Ridge Games, which was published ahead of the holidays, gives players a mystery to solve during the Starlight Ball, a stunning masquerade. Along with expanding the current terrain and adding new questlines, this update also brings a plethora of new cosmetics, mechanics, and other features, such as helmet transmog, redesigned combat, and more crops and recipes.
The nobles of Turien have come together to celebrate their wealth and host the Starlight Ball, a masquerade party that will be remembered for years to come during the Night of Falling Stars. However, there’s a problem because your host seems to have some… hidden agendas, even if your invitation arrived with no conditions. You are responsible for solving the mysteries that emerge beneath the stars and deciphering the intricate details of the night’s guests.
But the “Night of Falling Stars” update has more in store for Mirthwood players than that. Discover new crops to cultivate and oversee, as well as delectable dishes to prepare, allowing you to indulge your inner horticulturist. Adding tea and beekeeping to your farm experience gives it the ideal amount of comfort. Additionally, this update includes the long-awaited fish creel.
As part of today’s “Night of Falling Stars” update, players can accessorize their wardrobes with new couture pieces, including as hats, haircuts, and apparel, to help them seem successful. Players can alter their look using the new Magic Mirror. Additionally, players can display fashionable headgear while still retaining the defensive qualities of their original helmets thanks to a new helmet vanity slot option—that is, helmet transmog is now available in Mirthwood!
The devs wanted to incorporate a celebration of the season because it’s December. Players can participate in a Yuletide celebration in Mirthwood, complete with Yuletide-themed décor, attire, and of course, food, as part of today’s update and every winter season after that.
In addition to other performance and stability fixes implemented since the game’s release, Bad Ridge Games has recently redesigned combat, which should make action more interesting for gamers. With the intention of reducing move-spamming, which rendered movements otherwise dull, stamina is now expended while sprinting or performing combat actions. You can, however, turn off the adjustments by selecting the “easy combat” option in the in-game settings if you prefer the way combat was before this update.
Players can anticipate more patches in the upcoming year, even if today’s “Night of Falling Stars” update is the final one for Mirthwood in 2024. For a refresher, here is a glance at the roadmap. While letting you forge your own route through its vast universe, Mirthwood evokes an enthralling sense of adventure.
- There is a 15% launch discount for Mirthwood starting December 19th for the Steam Winter Sale!
