The popular action-adventure dungeon creator Quest Master will launch a single-player story campaign when it leaves Steam Early Access later this year, as featured in a preview given by gaming publisher Apogee Entertainment at gamescom. This thrilling, handcrafted adventure will add a whole new experience to the game, enhancing Quest Master’s multiplayer modes, level editor, and thousands of community-made dungeons.

Players have used Quest Master’s seven distinct elemental dungeon themes to construct more than 5,000 different community-crafted dungeons and counting in Dungeon Maker since the game’s first release on Steam Early Access in May 2024. With a brand-new Campaign and a fully-realized Castle Town full of NPCs and plenty to see, players will be able to explore the game’s lore and turn a new page in the world of Aetheria. Additionally, the game will feature a brand-new, full-length original soundtrack that adds a new musical accompaniment inspired by the music players have grown accustomed to in Dungeon Maker.
Jeron Moore, Game Director and Executive Producer at Apogee Entertainment stated, “Quest Master is two games in one. On one hand, it’s a robust dungeon-building platform powered by community creativity and endless replayability. On the other hand, it’s a story-rich adventure filled with memorable characters, layered mysteries, and a world that grows deeper the more you explore.”
Quest Master Key Features:
-
A Fleshed-Out Dungeon Maker: Numerous components that can be joined to form intricate puzzles and new mechanics
-
It’s Dangerous to Go Alone: Up to three people can participate in multiplayer modes at once, including PvP and cooperative.
-
Sharing is Caring: the capability of using Steam Workshop to post and distribute dungeons to other players. Custom dungeons can be downloaded, rated, and more by players. Look through player-made mods made with Quest Master’s extensive level editing features, such as unique pets, objects, enemies, and themes.
-
Many Ways to Build and Play: There are seven diverse elemental dungeon themes to choose from, each with unique mechanics, traps, and creatures, ranging from the eerie Thundervolt Bastion to the icy Coldfang Grotto.
-
The Bustling Hub: A redesigned Castle Town offers a carefully planned center with side quests, unexpected surprises, and changing NPCs. With unique personalities and objectives that are closely related to the player’s adventure, characters such as Shiv, Javelyn, and Lanze are vividly brought to life.
- A Dark Mirror: A villain whose intentions are as harmful as they are thought-provoking, someone who will test the players’ beliefs as well as their abilities
Quest Master is available in Early Access on Windows PC, macOS, and SteamOS via Steam. Later this year, Quest Master 1.0—which includes the new single-player story mode—will be released. Before committing to Quest Master, prospective explorers can test it out with a demo.
