Now Available – 60 FPS Update for Far Cry 3, Blood Dragon, and Far Cry Primal

Today, Ubisoft revealed that a free update supporting 60 frames per second for Far Cry 3, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, and Far Cry Primal is now available on the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. The entire post-Far Cry 3 lineup now operates at 60 frames per second on current generation consoles thanks to the update of these three classic games to 60 frames per second.

As the company gets closer to its 22nd anniversary in March 2026, this upgrade gives these adventures a second lease on life by utilizing the power of more recent hardware, providing smoother gameplay, improved responsiveness, and a more contemporary feel to the Far Cry franchise.

• Far Cry 3 – As you take on one of the most iconic villains in video games, Vaas Montenegro, return to Rook Island with more fluidity. The game’s fast-paced combat, exploration, and stealth are all improved by the 60 FPS boost, making the iconic Far Cry experience feel more immersive than before.
• Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon – Return to the extravagant, neon-lit tribute to action movies from the 1980s, but with more fluid traversal and gunplay. The game’s explosive, humorous intensity is enhanced by the sharper reactivity.
• Far Cry Primal – Go back to the Stone Age and guide your tribe through Oros’s wilderness with more fluid fighting, accurate shooting, and smooth movement. The game’s rich prehistoric setting and visceral survival experience are enhanced by the 60 FPS update.
