This is Gaming Cypher’s PC review for Animal Gods by independent videogame developer, Still Games.
In top-down, 2DS action title, Animal Gods, you play as Thistle, a young priest and hunter from an ancient age. Your main goal is to release the God of Old from a curse and stop an arcane cult leader.
This almost Zelda-like feel game is hugely fascinating and captivating, making you want to keep on playing for as long as you can. We enjoyed the various fast-paced action of moving through mazes in a non-linear world type of fashion.
You will have the Wield Rift Bow, Flame Cloak and Bronze Sword capabilities that will enable you to destroy moving objects, jump over hurdles and make your way through the game. There is also exploration peppered throughout the stages.
We very much enjoyed Animal Gods sounds and pleasing graphics and found ourselves challenged, but not to the point of frustration. We did have several levels where we had to keep trying to get through and test and re-test our reflexes, but that just made it more fun to play.
Overall, Animal Gods is definitely worth playing, enjoyable and addicting at the same time.
We recommend a BUY and give Animal Gods a rating of 4.5/5.
