IRVINE, Calif. /PRNewswire/ —
The 80s called.
They want their campaign back.
When E/LA and Obsidian Entertainment partnered up to launch the mobile version of Pathfinder Adventures, the popular tabletop role-playing game, the first thing we did was set our clocks back 30 years.
“It’s fun to look back to look forward,” says Carlos Musquez, Executive Creative Director at E/LA. “We felt there was something so intriguing about launching an iPhone/Android version of a game inspired by Dungeons & Dragons, which debuted at a time when the 80’s brick phone was the hottest tech in town.”
Featuring :15 and :30 second spots shot in 4:3 aspect ratio with a cast you’ll probably recognize from freshman year, this campaign invites viewers on a journey back to a simpler time and place—your parents’ living room. From digital to social and outreach to specific gaming influencers, every piece of communication is dripping with wide-eyed naïveté and good old-fashioned 80’s nostalgia, with a few hidden gems thrown in to reward those who look closely.
The campaign will run broadly across digital and social media outlets. Pre-roll ads will appear on YouTube, augmented by Facebook and Instagram posts.
