Poetic Studios passes its funding target on Kickstarter | stretch goals for final steps of campaign revealed
Bratislava, Slovakia – April 10, 2017 – Independent developer Poetic Studio has announced that it has successfully funded its Kickstarter campaign for Sacred Fire, its narrative-based, visually unique psychological RPG for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Sacred Fire surpassed its initial funding target of $50,000 USD, and is set for release on PC in Spring 2018, and later for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Poetic Studio has revealed a number of new rewards and stretch goals for the remainder of its crowdfunding campaign, which is set to end on Thursday April 13th.
Stretch Goals
- $55,000 – Extended Character Customization
One of Sacred Fire‘s strengths is its unique visual style and focus on character creation. It’s the deepest and most thought out design aspect of Sacred Fire, as it allows you to develop your own playstyle and create your own hero. - $60,000 – Inner Voice for your Player Character
The design of Sacred Fire is oriented inwards, exploring the motives, emotions and conflicts of the protagonist. In key story choices, a voice over will breathe life to the inner monologues detailing a player’s thoughts and motives. - $65,000 – Partial voiceover for 10 Main Characters
This stretch goal ads partial voice-over for the 10 main story characters: the eight potential allies and the two powerful villains. This allows character defining moments to come alive and immerse players deeper into the story.
New Rewards:
- in-game reward Ancient Blood making the player character more memorable
- a Golden Eagle animal companion with an emotional bond and loyalty dynamic,
- and an alarm, text message and ring tone narrated by Doug Cockle, the 2016 Golden Joystick Winner for Best Gaming Performance
“Sacred Fire has been a labor of love for us at Poetic Studio and it has been humbling to see the response from the gaming community. With their support we are now able to deliver on our promise of a unique narrative-based RPG experience where, as we say, your heart hides all of the monsters,” says Andrej Vojtas, Creative Director, Poetic Studios.
About Sacred Fire
Set to be voiced by the vocal talent of Doug Cockle (Geralt from The Witcher 3), Sacred Fire is a game about survival, power and hope, where players lead a band of resistance fighters in Caledonia (ancient Scotland) against the invading Roman Empire. Sacred Fire is not just about the outer, physical struggle for survival, but also about gaining political influence and the pursuit of inner balance, all of which will be presented in a distinctive cinematic art style created by Poetic Studios.
Using Poetic Studio’s custom “Emotions & Motivations” storytelling platform, players can resolve conflicts in Sacred Fire by using a combination of smarts, skill, looks or empathy. To do so, they must build inner balance by coping with things such as fear and anger. Only a stable and strong personality can win respect with bravery in combat, deal with the political turmoil with their own ranks and rise above the fog of war to lead Caledonia to her fate. Will you embrace revenge and forcefully bring about freedom for yourself and your people – or will you fight for a better world through courage, sacrifice and diplomacy?

Poetic Studio’s ambitious debut, which deliberately avoided a fantasy setting, has already garnered industry interest and praise from the likes of Chris Avellone (Fallout New Vegas, Pillars of Eternity, Torment: Tides of Numenera), Arnie Jorgensen (The Banner Saga series) and Matus Kirchmayer (Assassins Creed and Far Cry series). Poetic Studio has also launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the completion of Sacred Fire. For further information on the campaign, including backer rewards, go to:
