Outpost Zero is a FPS with basebuidling, resource management, and elements of survival from Symmetric Studios and Tiny Build Games. It’s currently in Pre-Alpha and hopes to release to Closed Beta on PC Spring 2018. The game plans on a full retail release with absolutely no pay-to-win microtransactions sometime after that.
Players take control of an AI Overseer sent from Earth with the mission to establish a habitat that can sustain human life on an alien world. Players will face dangerous alien life as well as space pirates and enemy raiders that want to foil the plans of every droid sent to the planet. You can also team up with ally NPC’s to take out enemy bases as you desperately try to maintain your own base.
Base-Building starts out bare bones, but with the help of android makers you can build more allies. You can then instruct these allies to continue building your base, crafting new weapons and armor, and harvesting resources while you go about doing your own things. However, if you aren’t doing a good job of maintaining your base and upgrading it with modern comforts like beds and entertainment they will lose morale and their work will suffer. If you die and you have more of these droids available you will assume control of one of them.
Players can also test their abilities against other players online in several game modes. There is a regular sandbox mode where players can destroy each other’s bases and fight it out in all out war. There are also more creative game types like a race to the stars to see which player can build a worthy base capable of launching satellites into the sky, or a race to build structures all the way up to the top of a tall volcano in a King of the Hill like game mode to see who can drop a bomb inside of it first.
