God of War began in Ancient Greek mythology. In the first installment, Athena tasks Kratos, a Spartan soldier, with retrieving Pandora’s Box to defeat Ares. With seven games based on Ancient Greek Mythology, the second era of God of War switched to Norse mythology.
Based on the PS4 E3 gameplay trailer, not only does it look like another fantastic addition to the franchise, but it’ll also have you do battle with Fenrir – a giant mythological wolf – minions of the dead and monstrous trolls. Despite the game being scheduled for release on April 20, 2018, there’s already talk of what mythology the franchise will explore next.
Well worth learning the game
God of War stayed in Ancient Greek mythology from 2005-2013, and even before this second era of God of War is launched, the next phase is already hotly anticipated. With the 2018 God of War expected to be a huge hit, moving into even more popular mythologies should prove to be very fruitful for the creators.
Cory Barlog, director of God of War, said that they might end up creating games around a protagonist based in the Ancient Egyptian era and the Mayan era. The Norse mythology theme is very popular in gaming and pop culture. Online casinos in Canada are filled with Norse mythology themes, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe and games feature the likes of Thor, Odin, Loki, the Valkyrie, and Heimdallr – known as Heimdall in the Marvel films and played by Idris Elba – with the films and games also being very popular in Canada.
Ancient Egypt in online casinos
However, exploring Ancient Egyptian mythology could prove to be even more popular. One gaming genre that hosts hundreds of games is online casino gaming. While the themed games shown in the review of Lucky 247 casino often catch the eye of Canadian players, the online casino is filled with great games in the Ancient Egyptian theme, which immerses players in the popular setting. Games like Isis, Throne of Egypt, Ramesses Riches, and Mega Moolah Isis have all proven to draw huge Canadian crowds.
While the most recent film that links to Ancient Egypt was a monumental flop – The Mummy, featuring Tom Cruise – there’s still clear interest from the gaming public. Assassin’s Creed Origins has been credited as the game that revived the somewhat drawn-out series. Set in Ancient Egypt, you are beamed into an open-world game that features many ties to Ancient Egyptian mythology.
While the Norse themed God of War is set to be one of the biggest games of the year, an Ancient Egyptian God of War could prove to be even more popular.
