Anime NYC Day 3 – Final Day, More Cosplay!

The dreaded final day of Anime NYC, for those who want to keep the party going, but all good things must come to an end eventually and this is no exception.  The most important thing about this convention was the precious memories everyone made as those will be important till the community meets up again.  Moreover, with the final day passing and the hype and excitement has come pass there were a few games that caught my interest especially in regards to the limited time available.  Aside from that, with the last day of the convention there were still games that needed to still be played and cosplays that really stood out.

As for the few games that I managed to play or see they felt exceptional in terms of quality and overall performance.  Starlight Revolver is an over the top mixed in with some anime flair to change the overall tone of the game to be more lighthearted.

Moreover, with the time crunch of it being the last day the time necessary for further discussion on the game aside from that fact that the game at its current point feels amazing to play from a controller standpoint.  Another game that really stood out was because it captured nostalgia in a bottle from a graphical perspective.  Hero Soul is a dungeon crawler that has taken some inspiration from the critically acclaimed game Secrets of Mana by the developers Square back in 1993.

The gameplay loop is focused on combat, exploration, and item inventory management.  The combat and exploration all stemmed from a combination of some of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles and Secrets of Mana generating this fun and immersive combat loop that really keeps the player entertained.  In addition to the combat and exploration, the inventory management is such a unique take for a dungeon crawl as the bag has players focus on keeping the inventory nice and organized quite similar to the briefcase from Resident Evil 4. Aside from these two games Ai2u With You ‘Til The End is a unique take on the escape room genre of games instead having this anime themed aesthetic to compliment the sort of darker tones the game is trying to unfold.  That is stemming from first impressions of the game as I did not have the opportunity to play it, but watched other players try it out.  There were also some very impressive cosplays at the end and it really showcases the passion people have for the medium.  Down below are a few cosplays that really stood out compared to the rest on that day and a couple of bonus pictures stemming from the event.

At the end of the day a lot of people possibly had the feeling of some mixed emotions after spending the weekend at the convention enjoying the time of their life there.  Anime NYC was fun and overall was a great time and was absolutely stunning to cover as personally I went to the convention as a fan previously, but it feels entirely different when I switched roles.  In regards, to the possible blues people might be feeling about the event it should be reinforced that the next time the community meets up again it should be a momentous occasion that should bring the community closer.
