Apex Legends: Legacy Releases Olympus Map Update Blog

Today, Respawn Entertainment and EA released a blog that gives a deep dive into all the changes coming to Olympus, the 3rd map introduced to the Apex games first introduced in Apex Legends: Ascension. You can read the full blog from Lead Level Designer Dave Osei on the official Apex Legends website here

In Apex Legends: Legacy, a rogue fleet of ships from outer space have breached the atmosphere of Psamathe and a vessel named The Icarus has docked on Olympus, bringing with it a parasitic plant of unknown origin. The Icarus and the winding vines protruding from the ship dramatically change the landscape of Olympus altering once clear sightlines for snipers and further shaking up movement with more POIs. Corpses of dead scientists who worked aboard the ship can also be found, offering leftover keycards that spawn randomly and offer access to top tier loot aboard The Icarus. Additional changes to Olympus include reduced redeploy balloons to relieve “third-party” skirmishes and encourage new rotations across key areas of the map.

Apex Legends: Legacy will also deliver Arenas, an all-new permanent 3v3 mode, high-flying Legend Valkyrie, a new weapon, new Battle Pass and much more. In case you missed it, Respawn Entertainment released a new gameplay trailer providing a closer look at all of the upcoming action in Apex Legends: Legacy (Seen Above).

Apex Legends: Legacy launches on May 4 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Origin and Steam. For more news about Apex Legends, checkout the game’s official Twitter, Instagram, YouTube pages, or visit www.playapex.com for the latest updates.
