Arknights 5th anniversary is here and there is plenty of free rewards to go around. After the update, players will get a free 10 pull voucher for the limited time operator recruitment, of which are Pepe and Narantuya. The new anniversary covers a well-established area called “Sargon” in the narrative as players will begin to unravel the mysteries of “Menat-Ha’Mait” and encounter some new characters. Pepe is the new guard operator that focuses on crowd control and so far at skill 2 is pretty decent, but at max power she has the potential to help players deal with certain levels in the integrated strategies especially.
Her kit will most likely be delved into by various Youtubers in the Arknights community focusing on her various skills in depth and how she can be applied into various team compositions such as FrostByte262 who has done content for other operators and looked into how they play. Aside from that players who pulled for Pepe will be happy to know that they can build trust with her more quickly during the event. Aside from Pepe, Narantuya is the new 6-star archer that has left quite the impression on the community and in the story is quite funny at times. Moreover, during the anniversary event players will be given the chance to do one free pull on the limited banner each day so there is plenty of incentive to keep pulling. So make sure that you have saved up enough materials to pull your favorite operators from the limited time event and good luck on your gacha pulls.
As for the narrative without spoiling too much of it, players will learn more about the mysteries surrounding “Menat-Ha’Mait” and the history intertwined with Pepe and the new cast of characters. Players will also get to see another side of “Sargon” the region it is in as it is mostly known for its tropical and desert like atmosphere from previous events such as “The Great Chief Returns” and “Tales Within The Sand”. So this will be a great opportunity for players to see what real world inspirations the development team used this time for the new area and explore the ever-evolving narrative of content in the game.
Aside from the usual additional story content regarding these new operators and characters being introduced into the lore of Arknights, players will have the chance to try out a new minigame for the event based on gem stones. The new mini game is pretty fun and easy to understand for players as it is based more on algebra and focuses on players getting the minimum required score to pass the class. As for those players who excel and want to get higher scores, they should be happy to take a screenshot and showcase their abilities.
