Popular mobile battler now available in US and Canada
Hong Kong – Great news, sailors: game publisher Yostar has announced the official launch of Azur Lane’s US/Canada open beta test, finally bringing their smash hit 2D nautical-girl side-scroller to Western gamers.
The open beta is arriving on the heels of a successful closed beta test from August 2nd to August 9th, which resulted in over 50,000 pre-registrations and significant hype about the upcoming game. Yostar sent 4,000 limited invitations to the CBT, and the beta testers offered a lot great feedback on the CBT Discord. The developers are confident that players will be delighted with the newest version.
Azur Lane features an exciting interactive combat system that combines the best of strategy and 2D shooter games. Players command a flotilla of ships, represented by cute battleship girls, which is divided into two parts: the Vanguard Fleet and the Main Fleet. The Vanguard is responsible for striking and clearing operations, and need to focus on two major things: firepower and survivability. Players can choose between Destroyers, Light Cruisers, and Heavy Cruisers for their Vanguard, with each ship type offering its own strengths and weaknesses. The Main Fleet is protected by the Vanguard, and must focus on fire support and dealing damage to enemy ships. Players must fill their Main Fleet with a strategically selected mix of Battleships, Carriers, and Repairs. Players must build their fleets carefully to succeed on the high seas.
There are many ways players can strengthen the battleships in their fleet and increase their chances in battle. The player can set their favorite battleship girl as Secretary, which will increase intimacy and improve integration. Players can also buy furniture to decorate the girls’ Dormitory, which helps them gain EXP while resting, and can even expand the Dormitory to add more decorations if they run out of room.
