The Dark Knight is back with the new plot twists and characters in Batman: The Enemy Within Episode 2 “The Pact” by TellTale games. Previous Episode we saw, the Riddler arrived and death of Lucius Fox, and in the end finding the team of Villains working together, and if that was not enough the Riddler was killed as well. Previous episode was a bit exciting because of all the riddles.
This episode picked up from where we left off on the last episode, where Amanda Waller reveals about the true identity of Batman, while having a conversation with Batman. And Gordon is having a hard time dealing with the problems going on around Gotham. While the conversation was going on the explosions occurred throughout the city. And thus enters Bane, where Batman goes to almost die because of the Bane using serum and almost killing him using one of the famous back breaker moves, that almost every Batman fan has seen in comics.
The story has been introducing the characters, one after other, that I felt was oddly surprising, with leaving a lot of questions and gap in the story. And then re- enters John, so far he has been a really interesting character for me throughout the story. This Batman story is going really different way where Bruce Wayne uses his father’s name after the reveal of mob connection in last season, to get the way inside group of villains and starts the story where Bruce Wayne goes out to being a detective outside of his cape and cowl. So far all the character have been really great including Harley, Freeze and in the a cliffhanger with entry of Catwoman.
Overall this episode has a lot of ups but did had a lot of downs as well, and the story, even though it feels like choice matters, didn’t really feel that way so far. I do expect a lot of improvement in the story in the next episode. Even though Batman is my favorite, for now I would give this episode 7.5 stars out of 10, hoping that we have a lot to look forward to in the next episode.
