Casino Games Posing as Casual Games

Casino games fit the textbook definition of a hyper-casual game. Most games at the Lucky Creek are simple (check), incredibly easy to learn (check), go on in an endless loop (check), and possibly addictive (check). There are, in turn, exceptions – casino games that are not like casino games but resemble casual or even arcade games much more. These are strange offshoots of the “casino” genre – but they are legit, and can be played for real in legit online casinos. And, of course, they can also be played free.

Reactoonz (and other “cluster” games)

The screenshot above may look familiar – and it’s not by accident. “Cluster” games borrow a few key elements from the insanely popular “match-3” genre. To make things simpler for the player, the “flipping symbols to form matches” is eliminated from these games: the symbols/tiles on the screen are falling into place at random, forming rows and columns, disappearing, and possibly triggering cascades. Unfortunately for players, these cascades are far shorters than the ones in Candy Crush.

Max Damage and the Alien Attack

At first sight, Max Damage and the Alien Attack looks like a cheezy retro “Space Invaders” clone – which it is, of course. But there’s a twist: every shot destroying an alien ship costs a certain amount of money. Real money, if you play it at a real money online casino.

Whenever an alien ship explodes, it reveals a win – this can be a power-up like homing missiles, stronger shields, or a plain and simple cash win.

The game has several levels, with increasingly tough enemies – just like a bona fide arcade game. Except here, being good at the game can earn you money.

Dungeon - Immortal Evil

Dungeons, heroes, monsters, and brutality – these are the ingredients of every RPG since Dungeons and Dragons. Surprising as it may sound, they also work as part of a real-money game of chance.

Dungeon: Immortal Evil is a… game of chance built by EvoPlay. It features a muscular warrior with an ax in his hand, a long corridor filled with monsters, and that’s about it. With the push of a button, you send the warrior into the next room where he encounters gargoyles, imps, succubi, and other monsters… and perhaps a bunch of acolytes that open a portal into Hell, where he has to slaughter further monsters. And in the end, the Evil himself.

Even more surprising, there is actual character development in the game: our unnamed hero can find equipment in Hell that will help him turn monsters into Shish kebab faster in the base game.
