CODE VEIN II’s trailer highlights important elements that players will need to survive the post-apocalyptic environment. The game’s combat has been updated, adding new depth and strategy with improved Drain Attacks, Formae, and the Partner System. Ichor, a vital resource that powers the player’s most potent skills, is extracted through offensive maneuvers known as “Drain Attacks.” Players can unleash powerful attacks known as Formae by using this Ichor. These attacks include Weapon Formae, which alter attacks and provide buffs, Bequeathed Formae, which call forth special weapons for devastating strikes, and Defensive Formae, which provide crucial blocks, counters, and evasive maneuvers. Wearable on the player’s back, jails are specialized artifacts that further influence combat by changing attributes, affecting Drain Attacks, and offering tactical advantages depending on the encounter.
The Restorative Offering, a mechanism that allows partners to revive the fallen Revenant Hunter with restored health—though a cooldown renders them momentarily debilitated and unable to aid in combat—is another feature highlighted in the trailer. Along with returning favorites like the Bayonet, Halberd, Hammer, and Greatsword, CODE VEIN II now includes the Twin Blades and Rune Blades. The enhanced Blood Code system, which enables players to customize their fighting style by unlocking and switching between several Revenant power sets as they advance, supports these weapon types. Players can develop specialized playstyles by using boosters to activate traits linked to Blood Codes and equipment and unlock new key attributes.
Players can begin using the CODE VEIN II Character Creator Demo on January 23, 2026, ahead of the game’s release. The Character Creator Demo lets players experience the game’s extensive customization system for Revenant Hunter, the main character, with a wide range of settings for body type, hairstyle, facial expressions, accessories, makeup, and more. It offers 64 save slots that transfer straight into the final game. Additionally, players can visit the MagMell Institute’s hot spring to see their characters in various lighting conditions and utilize Photo Mode to record and store their creations.
The game is currently available for pre-order on PC via Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. It will arrive on January 30, 2026. On January 23, a free demo of CODE VEIN II Character Creator will be released, allowing enthusiastic Revenants to utilize the game’s extensive customisation to build characters that they can then import into the finished product after making a purchase.
