Intro:
Command & Conquer Rivals by Electronic Arts is an action-packed war themed simulation game that you can control in the palm of your hand. Composed of touch and drag movements and controls, this game gives the user the ability to easily manage their own squad. It also provides much continuous self-satisfaction to me as a gamer, because of the ongoing unlock rewards and the idea to keep “climbing the ranks.”
Gameplay:
As said, this game is very easy to control. It’s mostly composed of tapping or simply just swiping across the screen. However, the overall substance of the game isn’t this simple. Keeping in mind this is an app that I played on my iPhone. I feel this game is tightly compacted onto the screen. While this gives me the ability to see everything that’s going on. It also had an overwhelming effect as I must focus on so many things on such a small screen. With that being said, this is a very strategic game that requires precise thinking. Which you have to send specialized platoons into the battlefield, to hold down neutral zones and to launch the missile before your opponent does.
Unlockables:
I think the feature to continuously unlock new items for your team, adds the most substance to the game and is its main driving force. I also believe the game does provide a lot of content for you to discover and unlock. Whether it be some new fancy war tank or a different commander, the game inspires you to grind it out and to try to obtain everything you can.
Pros: Easy movement, Room to progress, Quick play stages, War Themed, Many Unlockables, Online Gameplay
Cons: Tightly compact gameplay, In game purchase product pushing, Repetitive motions
Command & Conquer: Rivals is available to download on the App Store and Google Play. For more information and to stay up to date on the latest news, visit www.cncrivals.com or check out the game on Twitter, Discord, and Reddit.
