LOS ANGELES – Today, the Cuphead 2xLP vinyl soundtrack by Studio MDHR and iam8bit debuted at #1 on the Billboard Jazz Charts. This marks the first time a video game soundtrack has ever charted at #1 on the Billboard Jazz Charts. The album, featuring select songs from the original soundtrack of the critically-acclaimed indie platformer game, is also currently #1 on the Billboard Traditional Jazz Charts and #6 on the Billboard Vinyl Charts (between the incomparable Whitney Houston and Queen).
Cuphead’s original soundtrack has previously charted at #4 on the Billboard Jazz Charts. The Cuphead 4xLP vinyl set was released by iam8bit in September 2017 and is no longer available after two pressings.
iam8bit has been the leader in video game soundtracks on vinyl since 2010, invigorating the games industry’s obsession with wax with nearly 100 releases, more than any other label. Previous hits such as Hero of Time (Music from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time), Steven Universe, and Persona 5 have also topped the Billboard Charts.
The Cuphead 2xLP vinyl soundtrack is available for $40 on iam8bit.com (and ships worldwide): https://www.iam8bit.com/products/cuphead-2xlp-vinyl-soundtrack
