DAIMON BLADES Preview for Steam Early Access

Greetings, Gamers! Greg here from Gaming Cypher to tell you all about the early access for the chaotic first-person hack and slash, DAIMON BLADES. Developed and published by SteumOn Studios. Players who remember E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy might find this game to have some similar elements. In DAIMON BLADES, dive right into hell to chop demons to bits alone or with up to 3 friends, which will help you firm your grip on this mortal coil.

The interesting world of DAIMON BLADES revolves around the Secreta, warrior monks who seem to be the only barrier against the Daimon Realm. As you chase down the big bad, The Hermit, players will be equipped with many unique and powerful weapons. Weapons infused with Daimon power all grant a different gift to players. The Daimon spirit in each weapon is very thirsty, thirsty for the blood of your enemies. When players feed their weapons, it unlocks greater power and abilities, but if players aren’t careful, they can be corrupted by their dark tools.

In DAIMON BLADES, it’s all about the combat. Brutal, fast, and unrelenting, the hives of hell are upon you. Since the sea of enemies can be unrelenting, players need to be constantly moving, attacking, and dodging. There is no rest when enemies are around. Learning how to fight one enemy won’t get you through the nine biomes full of over 20 diverse enemy families.

Not every blade is sharpened and polished yet; as this game is still in development, there are some janky, buggy, or frustrating things still in the game. I am always an optimist, though, and think that many, if not all, will be fixed by the time the game’s finished version comes out.

Overall, this is a fun game full of first-person carnage and interesting lore. There are rougelite progression systems so things feel challenging, but players are able to customize that progression with the RPG-like skill trees and item options. If you are willing to deal with some jankiness, I’d say give this game a shot, but it might be worth waiting for a sale if you are more on the hesitant side.

In this current version, I would give DAIMON BLADESa 6.5/10, but I think with some polish, it has plenty of room to grow into the game it should be.
