Players Can Now Redeem Real Tickets for Real Prizes by Playing Popular Arcade Games – Speed of Light, Big Bass Wheel and Tippin’ Bloks – on their Phones and Tablets
DALLAS, TX. – July 16, 2015 – Dave & Buster’s, the ultimate destination for fun, food, friends and games, introduced today three new mobile games based on some of their most popular arcade games.
For the first time ever, these mobile games give Dave & Buster’s players the ability to play in the digital world, and win prizes in the “real-world.” Players redeem points for real-world tickets that are automatically stored on their Power Card and redeemable for prizes at all Dave & Buster’s brick-and-mortar locations throughout the United States and Canada. Prizes range from toys and video games to gaming consoles and tablets. The games are available for both iOS and Android devices.
The mobile versions of Big Bass Wheel and Tippin’ Bloks, developed by Robosoft Technologies, and Speed of Light, developed by Sarbakan, are all based on guest favorites from Dave & Buster’s restaurants. The development teams expanded on the arcade themed fun by adding new features to the mobile games, optimizing them for a smaller screen and integrating the technology that allows players to accumulate tickets and transfer them directly to their Power Card.
“We wanted to enhance our in-store experience by providing a virtual experience,” said Kevin Bachus, senior vice president, entertainment and games strategy. “Now guests can keep the Dave & Buster’s fun going even when they’re not at our restaurant. They can download these new mobile games and win tickets to redeem for prizes on their next visit.”
Video game industry veteran Kevin Bachus led the creation of these ground-breaking new games for Dave & Buster’s. Bachus was one of the original creators of the Microsoft Xbox console and joined the Dallas-based restaurant group in 2012 to evolve the on-premise arcade experience into a multi-platform gaming experience.
“We didn’t just put an arcade game on your phone; we made these games feel ‘native’ to mobile,” said Bachus, “These games are about more than winning tickets — these are really good, really fun, games you will want to play.”
About the games:
- Tippin’ Bloks – Get ready for the ultimate challenge to stack endless waves of Bloks falling from the sky. Move the Base from side to side and try to catch and stack ’em straight. Be careful or the Blok tower will become wobbly. If the Base moves too fast, it will all come crashing down.
- Speed of Light – Quickly tap and swipe the lighted “dots” on the board to score as many points as possible before the time is up. Additional features such as new colored dot types, a Sudden Death mode, the Lives system and purchasable power-ups, make this new twist on the popular game super-charged and ready to challenge your reflexes.
- Big Bass Wheel – Step up, spin the big wheel and reel in the Fun! When the wheel stops, you are rewarded with a variety of points. For an even bigger catch, a Big Bass Bonus has been added where, with a combination of skill and luck, you can win up to 1,000 points for a perfect spin.
