Resolution Games is thrilled to announce that Demeo Battles, its upcoming competitive turn-based strategy game, will launch for PC and VR on November 9. Inspired by tabletop miniatures games, the second game in the Demeo Action Role-Playing System is much different than its predecessor, focusing on PvP online battles rather than co-operative adventuring. Alongside the release date announcement, Resolution Games is releasing a full match playthrough of Demeo Battles for the first time, featuring Jerry Holkins (aka Tycho) and Mike Krahulik (aka Gabe) of Penny Arcade.
Check out the Demeo Battles gameplay trailer:
“We know the Demeo audience has been clamoring for more to play, and after several years of developing a competitive approach to our fantasy world, I’m excited that we’re able to share the first full look at a playthrough of Demeo Battles,” said Tommy Palm, founder and CEO of Resolution Games. “With shorter play sessions, as well as maps and mechanics that have been built from the ground-up for PvP play, the world of Demeo is more accessible than ever. Demeo Battles offers a robust, highly replayable experience for tactics-minded competitors — and we believe it offers more than enough fun to earn its place as the second standalone entry in the Demeo Action Role Playing System.”
As shown in the playthrough, Demeo Battles offers a wide variety of characters to choose from, along with a plethora of maps to enjoy. Buy units and cards to prepare for battle and unleash devastating attacks – or smart strategies – to outplay your opponents. Each match typically takes between 15 and 20 minutes to complete, making it easily digestible for short play sessions, so you can come back for a rematch again and again.
“Demeo Battles is a really cool take on a formula that was already incredibly good,” said Jerry Holkins, co-founder of Penny Arcade. “Individual rounds are fast and tense. It’s a welcome addition to the family and I think it could have real legs.“
Demeo Battles is a fast-paced, pick-up-and-play tabletop game designed for newcomers as well as fans of the original Demeo. Duke it out online in 1v1 or 2v2 tactical matches as you assemble armies of monstrous minions. While Demeo Battles is playable on virtual reality devices such as Meta Quest 2 and Quest 3 or any SteamVR headsets, the game is playable on PC without VR in a completely native flatscreen experience as well.
Demeo Battles launches on November 9 for $19.99, with a PC demo coming to Steam Next Fest on October 9. Excited for Demeo Battles? Be sure to wishlist it on Steam today ahead of its full release this fall. Likewise, players can pre-order it on Meta Quest today.
