Destiny 2: The Final Shape Now Out

Destiny 2: The Final Shape was released worldwide today across all platforms by Bungie. The Final Shape, the climactic chapter of Destiny’s ten-year “Light & Darkness Saga,” finds Guardians facing oblivion as they defeat the Witness, their greatest foe, and bring an end to the War of Light and Darkness.

Guardians will fight in a titanic struggle in The Final Shape to undo the Witness’s evil plans for the universe’s destiny. They will discover a brand-new location called The Pale Heart and go on an adventure into the legendary Traveler. Guardians will face both unknown and well-known foes while following the Witness through The Pale Heart and rallying their Vanguard allies to their cause.

With the introduction of The Final Shape, Guardians will have access to previously unseen powers to help them defeat their final enemy. The Prismatic subclass is the most important one. Prismatic, forged from both Light and Darkness energies, gives players the ability to mix and match Arc, Solar, Void, Stasis, and Strand to create a unique subclass. Players can gain access to new grenades that deliver both Light and Darkness damage, weapon damage enhancements, and other goodies by dealing enough Light and Darkness damage to turn themselves into Transcendents.

Compared to other subclasses, prismatic is intended to provide players with a greater variety of fragment types and slots for buildcrafting. With The Final Shape, players will have more options than ever before for expressing their true might as Guardians thanks to the new Exotic class items—one for each class.

On June 11, Bungie will release the first episode, Echoes, which takes place after the release of Destiny 2: The Final Shape and the Guardians’ battle with the Witness. Guardians will set out on a new journey following their encounter with the Witness in the first of three stand-alone Episodes that will be released throughout the year of The Final Shape. From June 11 to early October, three Acts of Echoes will unfold, each full of fresh stories, activities, and rewards.
