Digimon Story Time Stranger Review for PlayStation 5

Introduction/Information about Digimon Story Time Stranger

Digimon Story Time Stranger is a game that plans to release on October 2nd, 2025. This game is part of a subseries of the Digimon series where players will journey between the human and digital worlds, collecting and interacting with different Digimon, using their skills and abilities in combat, all in an effort to save both of the worlds. I am not too familiar with the Digimon Story games, but Time Stranger seemed very interesting when I first saw it. When I was playing the game, I was pleasantly surprised with how much I was enjoying the combat and different mechanics of the game. After playing through Digimon Story Time Stranger, I would say this game is a very fun RPG with a fun combat system and a ton of customization, allowing players to create their own unstoppable builds.

Gameplay

The gameplay for Digimon Story Time Stranger has a fun and interactive combat system with a very interesting story. The game will start players out in the real world, learning about what is happening, where they need to go, etc. As they progress, they will end up encountering Digimon that they need to fight. Starting out, players will gain one of three different Digimon to use to help fight off different enemies. This is where the combat comes into play. In terms of the combat, the basics are easy to understand. It is standard turn-based combat. Player attacks, enemy attacks, repeat until the enemy is defeated. As it sounds, it is pretty simple. What makes these battles more fun and engaging is customizing your Digimon and creating different builds. As players progress through their adventure, they will gain different ways to help do this. One way to do this is through equipment. Each Digimon can be given different equipment that can affect different stats and attributes. Players can also equip different attacks to Digimon, giving them a wide range of abilities. Players can give a Digimon with Dark attacks an Ice attack or Fire attack. They can build a Digimon to have every element type at their disposal, or they can give a Digimon one specific attack type, which, when combined with the right equipment, can make each attack devastating. Finally, through players interacting with the party’s Digimon, they can gain different attributes. These unique abilities can give Digimon a leg up during fights. Although the combat system was simple, I think what made me really enjoy the combat was the customization. Trying different equipment and moves with different Digimon felt very fun, especially when finding the right build that makes you unstoppable.

Overall, I believe the game Digimon Story Time Stranger is a fun RPG with an enjoyable combat system and a ton of customization for players to create powerful builds. As I mentioned before, I was very interested when I first saw this game. Through playing, I’ve grown to really enjoy it. The combat is simple, but the customization makes everything feel much more engaging, which is an aspect I’ve grown to truly enjoy with any game I play. If you are an RPG fan looking for a new game, a starting game to get into the Digimon Story series, or a fan of Digimon, then I would recommend players grab Digimon Story Time Stranger when it releases on October 2nd, 2025.
