SAN FRANCISCO – Today, Ubisoft announced that 16 of the best Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six eSports teams from around the world have descended on Raleigh, North Carolina, at the Six Major Raleigh, the first ever US Major in Rainbow Six history, taking place from August 12th to 18th. Following an intense Group Stage phase starting today and running from August 12th to 14th, the eight remaining teams will face off during the Major’s Finals phase to compete for a prize pool of $500,000 at the Raleigh Convention Center starting August 16th.
To watch the competition’s early Group Stages, tune in today through Thursday August 14th on Twitch.tv/Rainbow6 starting at 9:30 ET. For the weekend Finals, tune in starting on Friday, August 16th at 9:00am ET for the Opening Ceremony followed by the Quarterfinals. Saturday’s stream begins at 10:30am ET and will include the Semi-Finals and a Showmatch. Sunday’s activities kickoff at 10:30am ET and include the Grand Finals Championship match, the Creator’s Cup Showmatch featuring Shroud, and an exclusive panel unveiling Rainbow Six Siege’s next Operation and upcoming Year 4 updates, both game and eSports related.
Every fan attending the event will be granted a Six Major Raleigh in-game charm and will have the chance to take part in activities on-site including the Ubisoft Store with a variety of Ubisoft products, collectibles and exclusive Raleigh Major items, exhibitor and esports team booths, artists and the Ubisoft Recruitment team will be on-site sourcing some of the 1,300+ open positions within Ubisoft. For fans tuning in online on Twitch during the weekend Finals from Friday, August 16th through Sunday, August 18th, Twitch Drops are back. Six levels of exclusive Charms will be included in the Twitch Drops. More details are available here.
