This is the review for the iPad version of developer Gaffa Games free-to-play Dreamslide Plus.
During each dream, players must help main character Little John “fly” by drawing lines underneath him. The trick is to make sure that Little John doesn’t lose speed or fall from the sky. Stars boost Little John’s speed, and special items are worth bonus points. Gobbling up stars at a quick pace is essential if players want Little John to stay at cruising speed.
Graphics
Dreamslide Plus graphics are very vibrant and pleasing to the eye. Each dream, or stage, has different colors that add a nice variety to the game. For these reasons, we gave the graphics a 5 / 5.
Sound
Dreamslide Plus sounds correspond with the speed of Little John. The faster he flies across the screen, the faster the music. We gave the sound a 5 / 5.
Gameplay
Dreamslide Plus is a heart throbbing game that takes a great deal of patience and skill. The player must draw lines underneath Little John in order to help guide him through the dream levels. Sounds easy? Not so. The developer recommends drawing short lines, as they disintegrate after a bit. Also, once you hit a wall or an obstacle, you only get one more chance before starting the particular scene all over again. You’ll find it addicting and wishing for a slow-motion option, but then it wouldn’t be the almost stressful fun that it presents. We gave the gameplay a 4.5 / 5.
Controls
Dreamslide Plus features very simple controls. Just draw lines underneath Little John to help guide him across the screen. No glitches there. For this reason, we gave the controls a 5 / 5.
Overall
Overall, Dreamslide Plus is a super fun and addicting game. Speed and coordination are the key to winning each level. You have to have a level head and a coordinated eye in order to beat each stage. You’ll find yourself going through stages several times in order to try to win all of the bonus stars or just get higher scores than the last time. Some of us had to repeat stages just to complete the stage. This is a definite buy for us.
4.5 / 5
