This year at E3 behind closed doors, we got to watch the exciting gameplay of Marvel’s Avengers, one of the biggest games this year at E3. The entire setup was amazing and every attendee was provided with a dossier briefing about all the Avengers. Then the game creators started the demo, explaining a little bit about the game. From the looks of it, Marvel’s Avengers will also have a cooperative gameplay.
I saw the trailers earlier and I was very excited to see how the team of superheroes can be utilized in the huge game itself. We have seen games with solo heroes but this is the Avengers we are talking about! Marvel’s Avengers started with Avengers celebrating in San Francisco and suddenly there was attack on the Golden Gate Bridge. The game starts player controlling Thor first, and as we know, Thor is all about some cool combos with the Hammer, and some similar moves of throwing the Hammer and recalling it back just like Kratos from God of War. Here Mjolnir can be used to pin the enemy to the wall or knock the enemy back. And then there were obviously some thunder moves.
Hulk had some pretty slick moves that included lots of smashing and picking up enemies and either using them as weapons or throwing them. Also moving around by jumping on the bridge felt incredible. As for Iron Man, he used the usual moves from the movies including the missiles and flying maneuvers, and finally using locking missiles and the beam.
Captain America’s gameplay was pretty cool with throwing the shield and some moves felt very similar to that of the Batman Arkham Series game. And the same thing with the Black Widow, which included a lot of dodging and countering attacks. The overall gameplay looked pretty cool, at the same time it felt off, because I guess I was expecting much more. Though we still have hopes that we will see much more of the details in the near future regarding more of the game’s aspect. The release date is set to May 15, 2020 on PS4, Xbox, PC and Stadia.
