Earth vs Mars New Turn-Based Strategy Game Announced by Relic Entertainment

Today, independent game developer and publisher Relic Entertainment unveiled Earth vs. Mars, a turn-based strategy game in which players must create powerful and strange creature-human hybrids to protect themselves from a Martian invasion. Summer 2025 is when the game is expected to be released on PC via Steam.

Martians have been covertly visiting Earth for decades, capturing people and animals in order to extract their atomic essence. They have now returned with a full-scale invasion, and Earth’s resistance is being led by a motley crew of leaders. In a last-ditch battle for survival, players will lead Earth’s forces against elite alien fighters, grav-tanks, and high-tech Martian saucers.

The secret weapon of humanity? The movie “Splice-O-Tron.” Players can create strong hybrid super-soldiers to support Earth’s military by fusing human “volunteers” with Earth species using this special gadget. Use the nimble cheetah-fly to rain acid from the sky, the devastating human-rhino to tear through enemy lines, or the lethal squirrel-cow infantry to attack from the shadows.

Justin Dowdeswell, CEO of Relic Entertainment stated, “We are excited to bring a Relic Twist to the Advance Wars style of gameplay, infusing some Relic DNA, while harkening back to some of our earlier titles. Relic Entertainment recently announced a new strategy: Alongside continuing to work on the traditional RTS titles that we’re known for, we’re also going to work on smaller Indie style games in order to explore new sub-genres, experiment, get our creative juices going, and release games more frequently. Earth vs Mars is the first of this smaller Indie style game from Relic, published under the Relic Labs label.”

• Single Player Campaign: More than 30 carefully created objectives in a vast campaign with a strong narrative.

• VS Mode: Custom maps allow for limitless single-player replayability as you pit your prowess against AI.
• Map Editor: Make your own unique maps and scenarios and distribute them. We’ll have more details soon!
• Splice-O-Tron: Create a varied and potent roster of hybrid units by combining human “volunteers” with monsters.
• Unit Abilities: Every combat gains strategic depth and diversity from a vast array of distinct unit abilities.
• Commanders: Your play-style will be significantly impacted by the passive and active powers of each of the commanders you can choose from.

Players will discover new creature species, potent unit upgrades, and commander skills that can change the course of the campaign. The intelligent organic weapon known as “The Creep” and its own terrible mutant creations are examples of new challenges brought about by the growing Martian forces.
