El Paso: Elsewhere Preview for Steam

Introduction/Information about El Paso: Elsewhere

The game, El Paso: Elsewhere, by developer and publisher Strange Scaffold, is a game that is planned to release later in 2023 this year. This game is a neo noir third person shooter where players will fight and shoot their way through a reality shifting motel under Draculae, lord of the vampires, and the player’s ex-girlfriend. I usually tend to enjoy a good amount of third person shooters. This game has interesting gameplay with an interesting aesthetic, but overall, I would say that this game was ok. However, I believe players can still find ways to have a good amount of fun with this game.

Gameplay

The gameplay for El Paso: Elsewhere starts the player out on everything they need to know in order to play the game. The player will start out with an arsenal of guns; two pistols and a shotgun. If the player runs out of ammo, they can find some as they explore. The next weapon that players can use in their arsenal are stakes. These are important, as they are an instant kill to the enemies that the players will face. However, keep in mind that stakes are limited. The player will have to find stakes as they go. The controls of the game will involve the simple basics, such as shooting and reloading. One function to note about reloading is that players must reload manually when their mag runs out for the gun they are using. Other actions the player can do involve going slow motion. This is very useful for dealing with many enemies at once. One way that players can do this is with a dive. Doing a dive can put players in slow motion as well as evade the enemies (plus it will make the player look cool). The players must use every function they can to their advantage as they explore the motel, with 46 floors underground. They must shoot, dive and stake enemies, as well as rescue and save the victims of Draculae. Do all of these and players will have no trouble running through all the floors of the motel and destroying Draculae, lord of the vampires, and the player’s ex-girlfriend.

Final thoughts

Overall, I believe the game, El Paso: Elsewhere, is an ok game that I believe players can still have fun with. As I was playing this game, I felt conflicted because I did not think very much of the game, but I was still finding ways to have a bit of fun with it. This is why I say that players can still have fun with this game if they want to. If you are the kind of player who enjoys third person shooters, love the neo noir aesthetic, and believe they can have fun, then I recommend that you try playing this game. Players who are interested can get this game on Steam as well as Xbox Series and Xbox One when it comes out later in 2023 this year.
