The Famicom Detective Club series’ upcoming edition is almost here! Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club, a dark and twisted thriller, will be available for Nintendo Switch on August 29. Play it to investigate a crime and uncover the truth.
In Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club, a student is discovered dead in a terrifying way, with a paper bag covering his head and a creepy smile scribbled on it. This creepy face is eerily similar to both Emio (the Smiling Man), an urban legend killer who is supposed to give his victims “a smile that will last forever,” and a reoccurring clue in a spate of unsolved killings from eighteen years ago.
Assist the police in solving this crime by taking on the role of an assistant private investigator with Utsugi Detective Agency. Examine the hints and testimony you find along the route for any possible ties to the gory historical events.
The first new Famicom Detective Club story in thirty-five years is Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club. This game comes after the previously published Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir and Famicom Detective Club: The Girl Who Stands Behind, which were most recently redone for the Nintendo Switch system. Visit HERE to find out more about the next installment from Yoshio Sakamoto, the series producer, who was involved with every aspect of the script, including the cutscenes and tiny details, right up to the plot’s foundations.
Is this the work of a copycat, or has a serial killer made a comeback? Are these crimes based on, or inspired by, the story of the Smiling Man? You’ll find all of these solutions and more when you explore Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club.
