FACEIT is a Key Player in Xbox Live Expansion Into Competitive Gaming
SAN FRANCISCO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–FACEIT, the leading competitive gaming platform, is working with Microsoft as a preferred partner to integrate its technology with the Xbox Live Tournaments Platform that was announced today at the 2016 Game Developers Conference (GDC). FACEIT is also helping third-party videogame developers and publishers add a competitive layer to their games for the Xbox Live Tournaments Platform.
Xbox Live is extending its platform to enable publishers of all sizes to embrace eSports and bring it from the arena into the living room. Xbox Live will be providing a platform and tools to deliver an end-to-end solution for publishers, including the ability to integrate with top tournament organizers. The platform will run across Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs, made possible by the Universal Windows Platform and will bring competitive gaming to all skill levels.
“We’re thrilled to have FACEIT be one of the first Tournament Organizer partners for the Xbox Live Tournaments Platform,” said Joanna Mason, Principle Program Manager Lead of competitive gaming for Xbox. “FACEIT’s fan base and expertise will amplify the platform capabilities, provide better support for game developers and help bring competitive gaming for all skill levels to the living room and on Windows 10 PC.”
FACEIT is the leading platform for competitive online games with a base of more than 4 million users logging an average of more than 3 game sessions per day. The company was founded in London in 2012 with the goal of making it easier for players of all skill levels to participate in competitive online gaming. With FACEIT, players have access to a thriving and highly engaged competitive community, developers have a means of enhancing the competitive aspects and nature of their games and reaping the associated benefits, and brands can more easily reach an increasingly important demographic.
“The launch of the Xbox Live Tournaments Platform is a monumental moment for the future of competitive gaming and the growth of eSports,” said Niccolo Maisto, CEO of FACEIT. “With the new Xbox Live Tournaments Platform, Microsoft is embracing eSports and enabling gamers to experience the fun and excitement that competitive gaming has to offer.”
