The Excellent Animated Adventure Debuts on Switch
London, UK – Square Enix Collective is excited to announce Forgotton Anne is now available on the Nintendo Switch console, giving players a slice of excellent animated adventure while on-the-go.
Forgotton Anne is a seamless animated adventure, which takes players to the mysterious Forgotten Lands where all mislaid items from the human world are sent to linger. The game’s story-driven action is beautifully offset with handcrafted cinematic levels where the Forgotlings – creatures formed out of all of these missing items – help the trapped Anne find her way home. The result is a tale full of emotion that merges perfectly with Forgotton Anne’s 2D puzzle platforming play and its focus on dialogue choices.
“I think it’s safe to say a Nintendo Switch version of Forgotton Anne has been in our minds ever since we encountered ThroughLine Games’ amazing creation,” says Phil Elliott, Director of Indie Publishing at Square Enix. “We’re really excited to bring this outstanding ode to all things anime to an audience we think will really appreciate it. It really is one of the most stunning games we’ve ever put out.”
“It’s no secret that we want as many people to experience Anne’s story as possible, but this Nintendo Switch version has a special place in our hearts,” says Alfred Nguyen, Creative Director and Co-founder of ThroughLine Games. “Nintendo and anime are such logical bedfellows, we think bringing Forgotton Anne to Nintendo Switch is possibly one of the easiest decisions we’re ever likely to make in our careers.”
