Fort Triumph, developed by CookieByte entertainment and published by All in! Games, is a great strategy top-down game centered around turn-based gameplay with a wild fantasy theme. The game consists of a single-player campaign, filled with tons of levels and challenges for players to face. There were a couple of things that stood out to me in the game, some good and some bad. Overall, the gameplay and overall enjoyment of Fort Triumph was great.
Fort Triumph succeeded in many categories that other turn-based strategy games fail at. The game itself was interesting and the colors were vibrant and stood out. The actual action and fight sequences were animated pretty well, while still having the older Indie feel to them. The game itself was well balanced, with a good mix of challenging levels that did not make me want to quit playing. I have played strategy games in the past that are too easy and grow boring or are too difficult and become frustrating. I feel like Fort Triumph had a perfect mix of difficulty, and would suit ell for strategy game players new or experienced. There was also a great deal of progression that players could make, upgrading attributes, items, etc. This also helped keep the game interesting. With progression came a vast amount of achievements that players could strive to achieve, which is always a good sign for games.
Fort Triumph did have some categories where it fell short. For example, the campaign felt limited to only human factions. This limitation gave the game less customization and freedom, and I think it would have been a great addition to the game. On top of that, some of the missions or levels in the game can feel repetitive and boring. Luckily this problem is easily fixed since not every single level played is the same. In some cases, the fast-paced tactical combat felt clunky, and not completely satisfying. This might annoy some of the players that play the game, however, I did not it to be a huge problem. One final glitch I found was the mis-click problem in certain segments of the game such as the GUI or map. This should be a simple fix, and should not worry players too much.
Overall, I enjoyed playing Fort Triumph a lot. I thought that the overall game was very smooth and simple, and was fun for beginners and professionals at strategy games. I strongly believe that you should give Fort Triumph a try, and would rate the game a solid 7 out of 10.
