By this time, Fortnite crossovers with anime franchises hardly come as a surprise. 2023 is halfway through and we already have witnessed a number of Fortnite crossovers with anime franchises.
In January, we saw the Fortnite X Dragon Ball crossover. In March, we saw the Fortnite X Demon Slayer crossover. In April, we saw the Fortnite X Attack On Titan crossover. In May, we saw the Fortnite X My Hero Academia crossover. And now, in August, we are witnessing yet another anime crossover: Fortnite X Jujutsu Kaisen!
Fortnite X Jujutsu Kaisen Pre-Leak
While developers don’t reveal anything publicly regarding upcoming updates, these are also not kept strictly confidential either. More often than not, shortly before an update release, several leaks usually pop up on social media sites and they usually give us a good indicator as to what to expect next in the battle royale game.
As such, Shiina is a well-renowned and reputable Fortnite leaker. On 30th July 2023, before the official release of the Fortnite X Jujutsu Kaisen crossover, Shiina posted 3 pictures on X that leaked potential Nobara Kugisaki, Megumi Fushiguro, and Satoru Gojo Fortnite skins.
And just 2 days after what the leaked skin pictures predicted, the official handle of Fortnite on X posted a Fortnite X Jujutsu Kaisen crossover trailer that showed the exact same skins + 1 one more.
Fortnite Update v25.30 | Jujutsu Kaisen Crossover
Introduced with the v25.30 update, the Jujutsu Kaisen crossover features a lot of fun and engaging activities for players to take part in.
Although Epic Games dropped the Fortnite X Jujutsu Kaisen trailer on August 1st, the event officially kicked off on August 8th when the first set of Grade 4 quest objectives became available.
But before we dive into the event details, let us first discuss the highlight of this crossover collaboration: SKINS!
Speaking of skins, there are 4 new latest skin outfits in Fortnite representing characters from the Jujutsu universe. These characters are no other than the much-adored Yugi, Megumi, Nobara, and Satoru!
However, in case just like many others, if you somehow cannot get your hands on these, you can always buy the Jujutsu character skins here!
Now, let us now dive into the crossover event’s details.
Fortnite X Jujutsu Kaisen revolves around the concept of “Curse”. This is the same Curse that has plagued the universe of Jujutsu Kaisen universe. Now, this Curse has also found its way into Fortnite’s battle royale island as well and you have to break it, hence the “Break The Curse!” questline.
“Break The Curse!” questline is currently the Fortnite latest quest and is filled with engaging objectives for players to complete.
And when players are completing these quest objectives, random Cursed Llamas will also appear on the map. Players will have to break them in order to learn 2 all-new cursed techniques: Straw Doll Technique and Hollow Technique: Purple.
The Straw Doll Technique is basically a hammer combo that, when launched, unleashes a curse-infected rain of nails on the targeted opponent. Hollow Technique: Purple, on the other hand, is a nifty technique that enables players to erase buildings in their paths as well as deal damage to enemies over time.
As such, players will use these 2 techniques a lot and in a variety of combos to complete advanced Break The Curse! Quest objectives. These quest objectives span 5 Sorcerer Grades, with each having its own set of objectives and time when they become available. To help you understand it better, the following are the dates when each Grade Quest goes live:
- Grade 4 Quests: August 8th
- Grade 3 Quests: August 10th
- Grade 2 Quests: August 15th
- Grade 1 Quests: August 17th
- Special Grade Quests: August 17th
As of now, Grade 4 and Grade 3 quests are live. The remaining quests will become available on their respective dates. And as you may have guessed, YES, each successive Grade Quest’s objectives will become progressively difficult. However, with increased difficulty comes increased rewards!
Speaking of rewards, each Grade Quest has two Reward Track tiers: Free and Premium. While the Free Reward Track tier is available to all Fortnite players, the Premium Reward Track tier needs to be purchased with 1000 V-bucks. Do note that if you purchase the Premium Reward Track tier, you will earn Yuji Itadori’s Streetwear skin outfit for free!
Also, upon completing a certain number of quests for each Sorcerer Grade, you will receive a token. And when you get all 5 Sorcerer Grade tokens, you will unlock the Nue Glider cosmetic item!
And if you think that’s the end of the picture yet, wait, there’s more! Besides the 5 different Grade Quests, there’s also Jujutsu Kaisen Cup Event. It is a competitive Duos Zero Build tournament where you compete to be among the top point-earning players in your region.
Kaise Cup is full of rewards. By simply participating in it, you will unlock the Good Boy Kon Emoticon. Also, if you manage to win at least 8 points in this event, you will earn Yuji’s Training Spray. Moreover, by securing 3 eliminations alongside your duo in the Kaisen Cup, you will also be rewarded with Gojo’s Eye Emoticon.
See? Just like that, there are tons of other rewards available to get in this latest Fortnite X Jujutsu Kaisen crossover. As of writing, Fortnite X Jujutsu Kaisen is currently ongoing. The event will last until August 25th. So, hurry up if you haven’t started by now!
