Do Aliens exist? We may never truly know, but we do know that Opera GX have revealed that the theme for their Game Jam is UFO. Entrants hoping to win the $10,000 grand prize will have to submit something out of this world!
In case you needed a refresher, the Game Jam challenges gamers and developers of all levels to make an ‘offline game’ for Opera GX users to stay entertained if their web connection drops. The competition officially begins today with the reveal of the theme.
Hosted on Game Jolt’s platform, entrants will get a free GameMaker Studio 2 license for the duration of the jam – the same software which famously produced hits like Hotline Miami, Undertale, and Hyper Light Drifter.
The winning game will receive expert support and promotion through Opera GX, YoYo Games and Game Jolt, as well as a cash prize of $10,000. Second and third place also share in the celebrations, able to win $7,000 and $3,000 respectively.
