Players from Around the Country Head to GameWorks Las Vegas to Battle it Out for eSports Prize Pool Valued at $25,000
WHO:
GameWorks, a full entertainment and dining experience for millennials, teens and families, with an emphasis on esports. GameWorks is the nation’s largest esports player. All seven GameWorks locations have dedicated, modern, high-tech and high-touch eSports lounges on premise. Each full-service, premium GameWorks esports lounge is equipped with, on average, 20-40 PCs and consoles and an extensive library of approximately 100 of the most popular, up-to-date video games. Venues host hundreds of tournaments and events, attracting tens of thousands of guests annually, who participate, play socially or are spectators.
WHAT:
GameWorks to host last chance qualifiers and national finals in its $25,000 Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Showdown tournament.
Showdown was held across all seven GameWorks venues nationwide during May and June.
Now, seven local winners from each market are receiving an all-expense paid trip to GameWorks Las Vegas – Town Square to compete in the grand finals, with a prize pool that includes Alienware products, such as an Area 51M gaming laptop, and $10,000 cash.
The final spot for the Grand Finals will be awarded to the winner of the last chance qualifier round to take place at GameWorks Las Vegas on June 28th.
Tournament sponsors include COUGAR, the official Platinum Level Event Sponsor, a manufacturer and provider of gaming gear, which are featured in many GameWorks esports lounges; Gold Level Event Sponsor, Alienware, a leading gaming laptop and desktop manufacturer (wholly owned subsidiary of the world’s largest PC maker, Dell); and, Silver Level Event Sponsor Tabasco, makers of the special, original red pepper sauce.

Admission fee to participate in the Last Chance Qualifier is $50. Players can register here until June 27th, 2019. Spectators are welcome to attend without any entry fees.

The recently upgraded 37,000-square foot GameWorks flagship Las Vegas location features a dedicated esports lounge, occupying approximately 2,000 square feet within its space that boasts 100+ game options, 40 PCs, dozens of gaming consoles (Xbox, PS4, Wii U, and Nintendo Switch) and several couches for playing and viewing. GameWorks Las Vegas hosts 25 plus esports tournaments monthly. It also has a 10,000-square-foot arcade game floor with 150+ video and classic arcade-style games and an eight-lane bowling alley.
