Good Pizza, Great Pizza is a port for the Nintendo Switch from the developers at TapBlaze and publisher PM Studios. Originally a game that captivated players on their iPhone or Android devices, now the game comes to the switch for a more detailed experience without the microtransactions that so many people hate.
In this game, you get to experience what it’s like to own your very own pizzeria. You receive orders, you make the pizzas, put them in the oven, and give them to customers. You have to fill enough orders every day to make enough money to keep the pizzeria open, as well as compete with rival pizza shops! You can even expand your pizzeria by offering new menu items like toppings or upgrade your equipment. This is seriously just like my job that I had for six years before this, being an assistant manager at a local pizzeria. Unlike my job however, that honestly got pretty stressful at times, this game is strangely relaxing. If you liked any tycoon games back in the day (my personal favorite was Fish Tycoon), you are really going to love Good Pizza, Great Pizza. For some reason, making a pizza in a game is way more relaxing than it is in person. The only thing this game was missing was the smell of the pizza cooking that would always get me so hungry at work. When are we getting smell-o-vision again? Seriously!
The graphics of Good Pizza, Great Pizza are really cute, very cartoony, and remind me of a stereotypical Italian pizzeria. The sound design is pretty standard, but cute. The port from mobile game to Switch works pretty well since you aren’t getting those annoying ads or microtransactions like you did if you played the game on your phone. In my opinion, this makes the game worth the price, especially since I am already seeing it on sale everywhere so you’re likely to get it for a really good price.
The gameplay is very simple—get an order and make it. Even small children would be able to pick up the game and play it—and that is what makes it so addicting and satisfying to play. Sometimes, not everybody wants to put in hundreds of hours into a game, and have to do outside reading to figure out the lore and significance behind everything. Sometimes, you don’t want to put in a lot of effort and compete with other people online. That’s where games like this come into play, and lure you in with satisfying, simple and addicting gameplay. There is a reason why Good Pizza, Great Pizza is so popular on mobile devices and the developers behind it decided to put it on the Switch—the audience is there. I would definitely recommend this to all gamers, young and old, who want a simple and relaxing experience with the opportunity for lots of playtime.

Nintendo Switch Review
I am a senior studying History at the University of Michigan. I've been playing video games since I was very young and around age 16 I had become entirely obsessed with the medium. I hope to one day work in the industry in any way I can.
