Guild Wars 2 Welcomes Back Sky Pirates

Today, Guild Wars 2 players can take up the fight against the Aetherblades as Episode 2 of Living World Season 1 is now available for free for all players. Introducing new achievements and rewards and titled “Sky Pirates,” Episode 2 marks the first time this content has been playable since 2013, now reformatted to be more accessible via the game’s story journal.

Episode 2 will also turn back the clock in Tyria by featuring instanced content in the original city of Lion’s Arch that launched with the game in 2012 before it was permanently destroyed over the course of the original run of Season 1 nearly a decade ago.

New rewards include an Aether Visor helmet and Decisive Evidence, a pistol themed after fan-favorite character Marjory Delaqua.

Guild Wars 2 Welcomes Back Sky Pirates

Season 1 marked the beginning of nearly a decade of episodic Living World content nearly nine years ago. Originally conceived as limited time story and gameplay events in the post-launch period, Season 1 introduced Guild Wars 2 players to a wide cast of characters that would form the foundation of Dragon’s Watch over the next several years and begin the epic elder dragon storyline that reached its conclusion with the recently released End of Dragons expansion. The complete chronological history of Guild Wars 2 will finally be able to be played beginning to end for the first time.

More episodes will come to the game free of charge throughout 2022.
