Harena Data Rolls Out After School Gaming Clubs

Harena Data, the world’s largest eSports community aggregator, has today announced the launch of After School Gaming Clubs, a regional program to help young students stay engaged with their peers digitally and form new friendships through competitive gaming.

The After School Gaming Clubs are available for students between ages 7 and 17. Harena’s forward-thinking virtual program brings back the joy and engagement that once came with after school activities like book clubs, sports, chess, and other programs. In order to ensure safety to children, these clubs will take place on Harena’s COPPA-compliant, Safe Harbor-certified platform and include coaches and guides that are federally background checked and have SafeSport certification and training.

“Before COVID, there were generations of kids who were already more comfortable engaging online socially through video games, and the pandemic has magnified that,” said Bill Dever, Chief Strategy Officer at Harena Data. “Through our After School programs, we turn a negative into a positive as we help train kids to engage socially online and make new friends in a safe digital environment.”

In addition to fun daily competitive matches and tournaments, these clubs will run special events and Spring Break programming including educational adventure camps, regional matches, tournaments, leagues, and prize competitions. Parents can stay engaged by linking their parental account to their child’s and keep up with all the activities.

“We’ve had so many discussions with parents who are thankful for our programs, as it helps them engage with their kids on their own turf. Video gaming is our trojan horse to character development and digital literacy, and kids will make new friends while having fun doing it.”

The After School Gaming Clubs will run every Monday to Friday from 4 pm to 6 pm local time and will include special events on weekends and evenings. Interested parents and students can sign up through their local state soccer association’s website.
