Through combining their rich experiences, comes Afterthought Studios’ first commercial project, A More Beautiful World. The kinetic visual novel depicts the journey of Violetta, a young witch, in a medieval world where magic is a forgotten existence. The plot is inspired by Spice and Wolf and Maoyuu Maou Yuusha, places importance of relationships, money and politics. Intertwined with the storyline will include reflections of real historical events from China, Europe and the Americas, which would appeal to the inner-historians.
Heading both music and sound production is Steven Melin. Melin, is a video game, film and television music composer in Atlanta, GA. He is the Assistant Composer for Penka Kouneva (Gears of War 3, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands). In addition, he has also assisted industry veterans Garry Schyman (Shadow of Morder and Bioshock series) and Joel Goodman (Being Elmo and The American Experience).
‘Harmonicblend’ was a music founded by Trass. Previously the team has worked on several indie game projects. They are well recognized for their Dreaming Mary soundtrack which is from an indie horror game. They also produced Sol-Akata for Comiket, which was sold out within 2 hours. Their most recent project, COSMOCRYSTAL was also sold out at M3-Fall in Japan.
Illustrating the sprites and CGs is the talented Yuuki and providing a background art for the characters to interact in is Sillyselly. The folks from Fervent are also assisting with the artistic process. Fervent’s previous works includes the hit visual novels Who is Mike? And CUPID.
On the programming side, MysteryCorgi will be joining all the dots together. She has previously bought to life several visual novels including:- Culina: The Spirit of Cooking and Hands in the Kitchen, That Cheap and Sacred Thing. Her side projects includes designing logos and GUIs for a number of indie projects.
You can play the finished demo if you are curious about the visual novel. This demo spans 60% of the actual length of Act I. There are four Acts in total. Act II is similar to Act I in length while Act III and IV, combined, are three times longer than the total length of Act I and II. The estimated length of the demo is 60-80 minutes

In order to bring this visual novel to completion, Afterthought Studios requires more funding to do the finishing touches. A More Beautiful World’s Kickstarter campaign began on the 3rd of December 2015 and will be ending in early January 2016, where we hope that we will be able to achieve the pledged goal of $6,500. The developer hopes to see everyone soon in April 2016, when the full version of A More Beautiful World can be unveiled to the world and that magic will exist again.
