In accordance with Square Enix Montreal Senior Designer, Richard Knight’s LinkedIn profile, “Senior Designer – Hitman Project (Next-Gen Consoles/Current Gen/PC) – is Cancelled.”
Knight’s current role has been changed to “Prototyping games in short dev cycles for Tablet devices.”
The new Hitman game, supposedly to be named ‘Hitman: Guns & Souls’ was also believed to have featured microtransactions and online leaderboards, according to the LinkedIn profile of Network Engineer, Anthony Pressacco. He stated that Square Enix is now working on “unannounced Hitman game” for mobile formats.
