If you have played Outlast then you will definitely like to play this, as this game will give the player a co-op game play as well. Hunt: Showdown is developed by Crytek, which is the developer for the Crysis Series that is really popular for graphics. This time, Crytek has tried the horror genre.
Hunt: Showdown is still in developer mode and is not a complete version yet, but it pretty much lets you start without any story. Players can select different characters available and each has different skills in guns, rifles, pistols, etc. And, you can choose from a map and it will search players for a match. There is a team of two players who are supposed to go through the map to find the clues and get to the boss. It is interesting and the scary at the same time.
Hunt: Showdown will give players real good scares as the environment, either day or light is scary, and you can get lost in the forest. There is vision skill, which will let you see the clue and then you can go in the direction of the map by going through the obstacles and different settings. Players will have to go around salvaging things and there are a lot of ways if not careful can be aware of nearby enemies.
Players need to keep collecting the ammos and medkit to stay alive in case there a sticky situation comes up. There is no single type of enemies, because in each location the mobs have different ways they can kill such as by using insects or cutting the player in half. At the end, once the clues are collected, there will be a main boss who needs to be killed. The good thing is that you will be in connection with your co-op partner and it feels a lot better to have someone with you together.
There are different modes in the game that you can play. Since it’s in Early Access, it is still buggy and needs polishing. I am hoping for more polishing at the actual game release. There were connection issues that I went through and long times of loading, at least 10 mins I was stuck on loading screen. But I think as just the game is still in testing, there are more improvements to be expected. Overall, I would definitely recommend to give Hunt: Showdown a try.
